Job Description
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in the logistics industry within the UAE is mandatory
- Hands-on warehouse management experience (receiving, storage, inventory control, dispatch)
- Experience in logistics specifically in the Emirate of Dubai and GCC countries, including contracting freight forwarders and trucking companies
- Experience in international transportation and documentation requirements
- Tech-savvy and a fast learner, with the ability to quickly pick up and effectively use ERP/procurement systems, including creating and managing Purchase Orders (POs)
- Hands-on experience using a procurement module/system is an advantage
- Good organizational skills to respond to multiple inquiries promptly and professionally
- Ability to work well in teams, interacting with operations, sales, and external customers
- Detailed understanding of INCOTERMS and their impact on pricing and risk
- Familiarity with the Dubai Trade portal
- Experience in the freight forwarding industry
- Fully communicative English (written and spoken)
- Knowledgeable of customs procedures
- Knowledgeable of the transport of Dangerous Goods
- Negotiation expertise
- Computer and tech savvy
- Relevant Bachelor’s Degree
RESPONSIBILITIES
Logistics & Warehouse:
- Receive requests for pricing, log information, and retrieve pricing from logistics partners in a timely manner
- Work closely with project planning to establish proper transportation schedules for delivery of materials/documentation for tenders/projects
- Serve as primary interface with sales channels on all aspects of logistics, budgetary pricing, and concepts
- Drive logistics actions during project execution to maximize efficiency while ensuring on-time completion
- Prepare, apply for, or generate import-export clearance documentation, including HS codes
- Work with project managers and sales executives to contract and coordinate delivery of awarded orders
- Work with shippers and freight forwarders to coordinate vessel bookings, documentation controls, and customs processes (ISF, clearances, etc.)
- Oversee warehouse receiving, storage, inventory control, and dispatch of materials
- Maintain accurate warehouse records and stock levels, conducting regular inventory checks
- Ensure proper handling, labeling, and storage of materials, including Dangerous Goods where applicable
- Develop supplier relationships and help build supplier onboarding processes
Procurement:
- Create and process Purchase Orders (POs) and Receipt Entries accurately and in a timely manner using the system/ERP procurement module
- Act as primary procurement interface with suppliers for assigned scope, ensuring smooth execution of procurement activities
- Commercially evaluate supplier proposals, negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts
- Track PO status, follow up on order confirmations, delivery timelines, and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain procurement records, ensuring documentation is accurate and up to date in the system
- Drive cost reduction initiatives in procurement of direct materials, products, and services
- Manage claims toward suppliers and subcontractors
- Follow up on timely closure of Non-Conformities (NCRs) related to suppliers
