Mortgage Loan Officer Assistant

REQUIREMENTS

• Strong understanding of FNMA guidelines, underwriting principles, and mortgage servicing procedures
• Experience in loan origination, processing, or underwriting within the financial services industry
• Knowledge of credit analysis techniques and basic math skills for evaluating borrower financial data
• Familiarity with TILA regulations, escrow processes, contracts management, and fair housing laws
• Proficiency in 10-key typing and basic computer skills for data entry and document preparation
• Ability to interpret banking policies related to mortgage loans and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations
• Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with clients, team members, and external partners

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist loan officers with loan origination activities, including gathering borrower information and preparing initial documentation
• Support the loan processing team by reviewing applications for completeness and accuracy, ensuring all required documents are collected
• Conduct preliminary credit analysis to evaluate borrower financial status using basic math and credit report data
• Coordinate with underwriters to facilitate smooth loan approval processes, ensuring compliance with FNMA (Fannie Mae) guidelines and other investor requirements
• Manage communication between clients, real estate agents, escrow officers, and lenders to keep all parties updated on loan status
• Prepare contracts, disclosures, and other legal documents in accordance with banking regulations and mortgage servicing standards
• Maintain accurate records of all loan files, documentation, and correspondence while adhering to TILA and Fair Housing regulations
