Job Description
REQUIREMENTS
Experience
- Minimum 4–8 years of experience as a Planning Engineer.
- Minimum 3 years of GCC experience preferred.
- Experience in structural steel fabrication and erection projects is highly preferred.
- Experience in industrial, commercial, high-rise, warehouse, PEB, infrastructure, or EPC projects.
- Proven experience handling multiple projects simultaneously.
Technical Skills
- Expert knowledge of Primavera P6.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Project.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience preparing:
- Baseline Schedules
- Recovery Schedules
- Resource Loading
- S-Curves
- Histograms
- Look-Ahead Schedules
- Progress Measurement Reports
- Delay Analysis Reports
- EOT Supporting Documents
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Project Planning & Scheduling
- Prepare detailed baseline project schedules using Primavera P6 and MS Project.
- Develop Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, and Level 4 project schedules.
- Establish project milestones, critical paths, activity relationships, and work breakdown structures (WBS).
- Prepare fabrication, procurement, delivery, and erection schedules.
- Develop project execution plans and resource allocation plans.
- Create short-term and long-term planning strategies.
2. Progress Monitoring & Control
- Monitor project progress against approved baseline schedules.
- Track fabrication, procurement, and site erection activities.
- Conduct critical path analysis and identify schedule risks.
- Evaluate delays and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor productivity rates and project performance indicators.
- Prepare recovery schedules whenever project delays occur.
- Analyze actual progress versus planned progress.
3. Resource Planning
- Prepare manpower histograms and resource-loading schedules.
- Forecast manpower requirements based on project milestones.
- Monitor labor productivity and utilization.
- Coordinate equipment and machinery allocation requirements.
- Identify resource shortages and recommend solutions.
4. Reporting & Project Controls
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.
- Generate project dashboards for management review.
- Prepare S-Curves for planned versus actual progress.
- Develop manpower histograms and resource reports.
- Submit project status reports to management and clients.
- Maintain project KPI reports and schedule performance indicators.
5. Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Procurement Engineers, Production Engineers, and QA/QC teams.
- Follow up on engineering approvals and material submittals.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers regarding project schedules.
- Attend internal and external project meetings.
- Support management in project review meetings and client presentations.
6. Risk Management & Delay Analysis
- Identify project risks affecting schedules.
- Prepare risk mitigation and contingency plans.
- Conduct delay analysis and impact assessments.
- Support Extension of Time (EOT) claims preparation.
- Monitor contractual milestones and obligations.
- Maintain records of delays and project disruptions.
7. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain planning records and project documentation.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications and contractual requirements.
- Archive project schedules, reports, and correspondence.
