Welding Engineer

Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or equivalent.
2. Minimum 10 years of experience in welding engineering within the Oil & Gas / EPC industry.
3. Experience working on ADNOC projects or ADNOC-approved contractor projects.
4. Mandatory certification: CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector or AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
5. Strong knowledge of welding processes (GTAW, SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW) and welding inspection requirements.
6. Good understanding of ASME Section IX, ASME B31.3, AWS standards, WPS/PQR qualification, and NDT methods.
7. Experience with carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex, and alloy material welding.
8. Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with clients, inspectors, and fabrication teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Develop, review, and approve Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Qualification Records (WQR) in line with project requirements and ADNOC specifications.
2. Provide welding engineering support for fabrication, construction, and installation activities related to piping, pressure vessels, and mechanical equipment.
3. Ensure welding activities comply with ADNOC requirements, ASME Section IX, ASME B31.3, AWS, and other applicable international standards.
4. Review welding procedures, consumables, material compatibility, heat treatment requirements, and repair procedures.
5. Support QA/QC teams with welding inspections, NDT coordination, and resolution of welding-related technical issues.
6. Monitor fabrication activities and ensure compliance with approved welding procedures and quality standards.
7. Prepare and maintain welding documentation and support project audits and handover requirements.
