Welding Engineer
Job Description
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in welding engineering within the Oil & Gas / EPC industry.
- Experience working on ADNOC projects or ADNOC-approved contractor projects.
- Mandatory certification: CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector or AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
- Strong knowledge of welding processes (GTAW, SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW) and welding inspection requirements.
- Good understanding of ASME Section IX, ASME B31.3, AWS standards, WPS/PQR qualification, and NDT methods.
- Experience with carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex, and alloy material welding.
- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with clients, inspectors, and fabrication teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, review, and approve Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Qualification Records (WQR) in line with project requirements and ADNOC specifications.
- Provide welding engineering support for fabrication, construction, and installation activities related to piping, pressure vessels, and mechanical equipment.
- Ensure welding activities comply with ADNOC requirements, ASME Section IX, ASME B31.3, AWS, and other applicable international standards.
- Review welding procedures, consumables, material compatibility, heat treatment requirements, and repair procedures.
- Support QA/QC teams with welding inspections, NDT coordination, and resolution of welding-related technical issues.
- Monitor fabrication activities and ensure compliance with approved welding procedures and quality standards.
- Prepare and maintain welding documentation and support project audits and handover requirements.
