Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience managing social media accounts for an organization, nonprofit, or brand
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Familiarity with social media tools (Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite, Buffer, Canva, etc.)
  • Ability to create clear, sensitive, and audience-appropriate messaging on public health topics
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
  • Experience in marketing, communications, public health, or nonprofit work preferred

Preferred

  • Background in overdose prevention, harm reduction, substance use education, or public health communication
  • Experience working with nonprofit organizations or grant-funded programs
  • Basic graphic design skills (Canva or similar tools)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, schedule, and publish content across social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, etc.)
  • Create engaging, accurate, and trauma-informed content related to overdose prevention, harm reduction, and public health education
  • Support awareness campaigns aimed at reducing stigma and increasing community education around substance use and overdose prevention
  • Monitor social media channels and respond to basic inquiries or engagement in a timely and professional manner
  • Assist in creating newsletters, announcements, and other communication materials
  • Maintain consistent branding, tone, and messaging across all platforms
  • Track basic analytics and prepare brief summaries of engagement and reach
  • Collaborate with leadership to align messaging with program goals and outreach initiatives
