Job Description
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience managing social media accounts for an organization, nonprofit, or brand
- Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
- Familiarity with social media tools (Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite, Buffer, Canva, etc.)
- Ability to create clear, sensitive, and audience-appropriate messaging on public health topics
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
- Experience in marketing, communications, public health, or nonprofit work preferred
Preferred
- Background in overdose prevention, harm reduction, substance use education, or public health communication
- Experience working with nonprofit organizations or grant-funded programs
- Basic graphic design skills (Canva or similar tools)
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, schedule, and publish content across social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, etc.)
- Create engaging, accurate, and trauma-informed content related to overdose prevention, harm reduction, and public health education
- Support awareness campaigns aimed at reducing stigma and increasing community education around substance use and overdose prevention
- Monitor social media channels and respond to basic inquiries or engagement in a timely and professional manner
- Assist in creating newsletters, announcements, and other communication materials
- Maintain consistent branding, tone, and messaging across all platforms
- Track basic analytics and prepare brief summaries of engagement and reach
- Collaborate with leadership to align messaging with program goals and outreach initiatives
