Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, or a NEBOSH Diploma.
    Minimum Experience:
    • 2–4 years of relevant Safety experience in a similar manufacturing industry.
    Skills:
    • Thorough knowledge of Safety Management Systems and international safety standards.
    • Good communication skills.
    • Good written and spoken English.
    • Excellent interpersonal and customer-focused skills.
    • Good time management and prioritization skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implements approved departmental policies, systems, processes, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with all relevant legislative and procedural requirements while delivering quality and cost-effective services.
  • Supervises day-to-day Safety department operations to ensure activities are carried out in accordance with established policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Oversees the effective implementation of incident investigation processes and conducts investigations and reporting of safety incidents, coordinating with relevant agencies where required, and provides recommendations based on investigation outcomes.
  • Plans, organizes, and delivers a wide range of safety training programs for employees at all organizational levels to promote safety awareness and reduce the frequency and severity of incidents.
  • Controls and coordinates the maintenance and testing of safety protection systems across the plant to ensure operational readiness.
  • Conducts routine workplace evaluations and inspections, providing advice on safety precautions, identifying non-conformities with local regulations and international standards, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of applicable local regulatory requirements and international safety standards.
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant safety, quality, and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Supervises the activities and performance of subordinates, including EHS representatives, by providing guidance, training, performance feedback, and setting individual performance targets.
  • Performs other related duties and assignments as directed.
