Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Typically 3–7 years of relevant logistics experience, preferably in power, EPC, construction, infrastructure, industrial, or large-scale projects.
  • Good experience in project logistics, material movement, transportation coordination, and site logistics.
  • Knowledge of domestic and international transportation, freight forwarding, customs clearance, and shipment tracking.
  • Experience handling project cargo, heavy equipment, oversized loads, and time-critical materials is preferred.
  • Good understanding of logistics documentation including purchase orders, packing lists, delivery notes, bills of lading, airway bills, customs documents, and certificates of origin.
  • Experience coordinating with suppliers, freight forwarders, transporters, customs agents, and project teams.
  • Good knowledge of warehouse and site material-handling processes.
  • Understanding of HSE requirements for transportation, loading/unloading, lifting, and material handling.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Good planning, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and logistics/ERP systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities under tight project deadlines.
  • UAE/GCC logistics and project experience is preferred.

Preferred

  • Experience in power projects, substations, transmission and distribution, EPC, or major infrastructure projects.
  • Experience handling transformers, GIS/AIS equipment, switchgear, generators, cable drums, structural materials, and other heavy project equipment.
  • Experience coordinating heavy-lift and abnormal-load transportation.
  • Familiarity with UAE customs, port, road transportation, and authority requirements.
  • Experience working with major EPC contractors, logistics providers, engineering consultants, and utility clients.
  • Knowledge of SAP, Oracle, or other ERP/logistics management systems will be an advantage.
  • Professional certification in logistics or supply chain management will be an advantage.

RESPONSIBILITES

  • Coordinate day-to-day logistics activities for power project sites, warehouses, and project locations.
  • Plan and coordinate transportation of materials, equipment, machinery, tools, and other project resources to and from project sites.
  • Coordinate with Procurement, Stores, Construction, Planning, Project Management, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of project materials.
  • Track material dispatches, deliveries, shipments, and expected arrival dates.
  • Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing materials, equipment, and project shipments.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, transporters, freight forwarders, customs agents, and subcontractors for logistics requirements.
  • Prepare delivery schedules and coordinate vehicle and transportation requirements based on project priorities.
  • Monitor the movement of critical and long-lead materials and provide timely updates to project teams.
  • Coordinate loading, unloading, transportation, and delivery of heavy and oversized equipment in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Assist in planning transportation requirements for transformers, switchgear, generators, cable drums, structural materials, construction equipment, and other project cargo.
  • Ensure proper documentation is available for transportation, delivery, customs clearance, and receipt of materials.
  • Coordinate import and export documentation, customs clearance, permits, and related logistics activities where applicable.
  • Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs authorities, and transport companies to ensure timely clearance and delivery.
  • Monitor shipment status and resolve transportation, customs, documentation, and delivery-related issues.
  • Coordinate with site teams to ensure delivery locations, access routes, unloading areas, and storage facilities are ready before material arrival.
  • Ensure materials and equipment are properly handled, protected, secured, and stored during transportation and delivery.
  • Coordinate special transportation requirements for heavy, high-value, fragile, hazardous, or oversized cargo.
  • Ensure appropriate permits and approvals are obtained for abnormal/oversized load transportation where required.
  • Coordinate with HSE teams to ensure safe loading, unloading, lifting, transportation, and material handling activities.
  • Ensure vehicles, drivers, lifting equipment, and transport contractors meet project HSE and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor transporter performance, delivery timelines, vehicle availability, and service quality.
  • Maintain logistics registers, shipment trackers, delivery records, vehicle records, and transportation documentation.
  • Monitor logistics costs and support efficient utilization of transportation and related resources.
  • Assist in verifying delivery notes, packing lists, shipping documents, and material receipt documentation.
  • Coordinate with Store teams for material receiving, inspection, identification, and transfer to designated storage locations.
  • Follow up on damaged, short, delayed, or incorrect deliveries and coordinate resolution with suppliers and transporters.
  • Support project teams in maintaining adequate material availability and preventing construction delays due to logistics constraints.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly logistics reports and provide shipment and delivery status updates.
  • Maintain records of pending shipments, delayed deliveries, customs issues, and critical logistics activities.
  • Participate in project coordination meetings and provide logistics updates and risk alerts.
  • Identify potential logistics risks and recommend mitigation measures to avoid project delays.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, project requirements, contractual obligations, and applicable UAE regulations.
  • Coordinate mobilization and demobilization of project equipment, temporary facilities, tools, and other resources.
  • Support movement of personnel, equipment, and materials between project sites when required.
  • Assist with logistics planning during project start-up, peak construction periods, commissioning, and project close-out.
  • Provide guidance to logistics coordinators, drivers, transporters, and support staff as required.
