REQUIREMENTS

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant backend development.
• Strong hands-on experience developing production applications with Python; Django experience is a strong plus.
• Experience building REST APIs, backend services, data models, and systems designed to scale.
• Professional experience working with PostgreSQL and AWS.
• Working knowledge of modern frontend technologies, particularly React and TypeScript.
• Experience developing or supporting distributed, cloud-native, and highly available applications.
• Ability to independently take a project from an initial technical concept through architecture, implementation, deployment, and production ownership.
• Strong grasp of software architecture and engineering principles surrounding scalability, reliability, maintainability, and system performance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or another relevant technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.

RESPONSIBILITES

• Design, implement, and maintain backend services, APIs, and application components supporting core financial and product functionality.
• Take ownership of large-scale engineering projects, from requirements gathering and technical planning through development, launch, and ongoing improvements.
• Develop and manage integrations with third-party APIs, vendors, technology providers, and external platforms.
• Contribute to decisions around application architecture, database structures, service boundaries, and engineering standards.
• Work closely with frontend and mobile engineers to deliver cohesive end-to-end product experiences.
• Investigate and resolve issues related to system performance, scalability, availability, and reliability.
