Procurement Specialist
Job Description
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven Network: Documented direct manufacturer or primary wholesaler relationships. Preferred Partner or equivalent status with key industry players in your vertical.
- Federal Procurement Fluency (Preferred): 1–2+ years in GovCon procurement or as a former Contracting Officer. You speak FAR/DFARS, understand RFPs, and know the full federal acquisition lifecycle without needing a primer.
- Exclusive Pricing Leverage: A track record of securing project-specific, locked-in rates unavailable through standard market channels — this is your competitive moat.
- High-Stakes Delivery Experience: Extensive background managing fulfillment where a missed deadline or spec deviation has real consequences — you operate with zero tolerance for execution failures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Pre-Award:
- Direct Manufacturer Channel Ownership: Leverage your relationships to negotiate protected pricing well below any wholesale benchmark — this is your edge and your product.
- Bid Qualification & Pipeline Analysis: Evaluate live solicitations for win probability based on your supply chain access and manufacturer capacity — know which deals are worth pursuing before we commit.
- Technical Compliance & Spec Alignment: Partner with manufacturer engineering teams to ensure 100% adherence to government technical specs and FAR/DFARS requirements on every quote.
Post-Award: Own the Delivery
- End-to-End Contract Execution: You’re the point person from contract signature to final delivery — managing manufacturer timelines, obligations, and performance against the award.
- Logistics & Regulatory Compliance: Supervise the full supply chain, ensuring airtight adherence to shipping protocols, TAA compliance, and Buy American Act requirements.
- Vendor Accountability & Past Performance Protection: Enforce quality benchmarks, delivery windows, and warranty fulfillment — protecting our past performance record and your ability to win future contracts.
