Procurement Category Manager
Job Description
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA) is a plus.
- Professional certifications such as CPSM, CIPS, or equivalent demonstrate a commitment to procurement excellence.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing and category management, preferably within the technology or manufacturing sectors.
- Proven ability to develop and implement category strategies that deliver significant cost savings and business value.
RESPONSIBILITES
- Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies that align with organizational goals, driving value and mitigating risk across the supply base.
- Conduct in-depth market analysis and supplier assessments to identify innovative solutions and optimize sourcing opportunities.
- Lead complex sourcing events, including RFx development, bid evaluation, and negotiation of favorable contract terms and pricing.
- Manage key supplier relationships, fostering collaboration and ensuring performance against contractual obligations and service level agreements.
- Oversee category spend, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement robust cost-management initiatives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into effective procurement strategies.
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to proactively adapt category strategies and maintain competitive advantage.
- Manage contract lifecycle, including compliance, renewals, and risk mitigation, to protect the organization’s interests.
