REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience with payroll management software such as Workday, ADP, Ceridian, Kronos or PeopleSoft
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles including general ledger accounting, debits & credits, journal entries, and bookkeeping practices
  • Familiarity with financial concepts related to payroll taxation, benefits administration, governmental accounting, and non-profit accounting is preferred
  • Proficiency in accounting software like QuickBooks or similar tools for data entry and financial tracking
  • Excellent analysis skills for account reconciliation and error resolution
  • Ability to perform high-volume data entry accurately using 10 key typing skills
  • Understanding of HRIS systems integrated with payroll functions for seamless data management
  • Knowledge of tax experience related to payroll taxes and compliance requirements
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage payroll processing using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro to ensure accurate and timely employee payments
  • Enter and verify data related to hours worked, overtime, bonuses, and deductions with meticulous attention to detail
  • Reconcile payroll accounts through general ledger accounting and account reconciliation procedures
  • Prepare journal entries for payroll transactions, ensuring compliance with double entry bookkeeping standards
  • Collaborate with HRIS platforms to update employee records and benefits administration information
  • Assist with benefits administration tasks including enrollment, changes, and compliance reporting
  • Support accounts payable and receivable processes related to payroll expenses and tax payments
  • Maintain accurate records of payroll transactions, tax filings, and audit documentation
  • Conduct analysis of payroll data to identify discrepancies or errors and resolve issues promptly
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations related to payroll processing
