Job Description
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED required
- 2-4 years of experience in patient registration
- Customer service oriented with the ability to handle multiple calls in a day
- Ability to relate well to all kinds of people, up, down, and sideways, inside and outside the organization
- Strong computer skills including intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneDrive
- Proactive mindset
- Strong attention to detail, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA)
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Using various resources (payer portal, automated verification system, etc.), verify patient insurance details, eligibility for TH services, and key that information into the EMR
- Prepare and/or analyze revenue cycle reports to identify insurance related trends and recommend ways to improve areas of deficiency
- In partnership with the billing company ensure insurance information is accurate to reduce denials related to insurance issues
- Work with the Account Management team to establish relationships with our clients to assist with obtaining missing insurance information
- Create monthly reports using excel to share patient cost-share details by client with the Account Management team
- Explain insurance benefits, co-pays, and deductibles to patients/family members (high call volume)
