Mechanical Project Manager

Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

• Mechanical engineering background with an associated degree in engineering.
• Minimum of 7+ years in a relevant position.
• Strong brownfield project experience.
• Proven project management skills.
• Excellent communication and organization skills for interfacing with multi-disciplined teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to develop engineering scope of works around task briefs.
• Design management skills with a systematic approach to meet stakeholder requirements.
• Experience in project feasibility investigations and directing engineering solutions.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D modeling programs is advantageous.

Preferred

• Experience with safeguarding equipment and compliance to AS4024.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Familiarity with structural and lifting equipment, strip transport, and conveyors.
• Experience with furnace and ovens, utilities, metering requirements, and automation systems.
• Understanding of crane and lifting equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and manage major upgrade projects at a leading manufacturing site.
• Develop and review mechanical designs.
• Prepare work scopes and tender documents.
• Procure equipment and manage contracts.
• Control engineering package budget and schedule.
• Implement, review, and sign off on QA activities related to equipment purchase and installation.
• Develop and manage project-specific safety management plans.
• Participate in hazard and risk analysis activities.
• Conduct design and constructability reviews with specialists and contractors.
• Develop installation plans and execution documentation.
• Define work permit requirements for site activities.
• Manage onsite contractors and supervise mechanical installation works.
• Oversee commissioning of equipment and process systems.
• Supervise contractors for civil work and infrastructure on site.
