Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required to ensure a solid understanding of accounting principles.
  • At least 1-2 years of relevant work experience, ideally in a corporate accounting environment, to demonstrate practical application of skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software like QuickBooks or Xero, as well as advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide insights for decision-making.
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial records and reporting.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with team members and convey financial information clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive attitude towards problem-solving, identifying issues early and suggesting solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately, identifying discrepancies as they arise.
  • Support the accounts payable process by processing invoices and ensuring timely payments to vendors.
  • Maintain organized financial records and documentation, facilitating easy retrieval and audit readiness.
  • Collaborate with senior accountants to analyze financial data and assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Prepare and file sales tax returns, staying updated with local tax regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Participate in month-end closing activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Help implement and improve accounting procedures and controls, contributing to operational efficiency.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding financial data, providing clarity and support as needed.
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy in reporting and compliance with established deadlines.
  • Assist with payroll processing, ensuring accuracy in employee hours and adherence to tax regulations.
