IT Project Manager
Job Description
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, or related field or a minimum of 5+ years in IT project management roles.
- Preferred background in IT consulting roles or projects overseeing IT consulting engagements.
- Strong understanding of IT systems, software development lifecycle, and project management methodologies.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide project teams.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- ITIL 4 Foundation certification (if currently not held, will be obtained within six months, course provided by Flycast)
RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Planning and Execution:
- Develop and execute standardized project plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, working with the senior engagement manager as needed. (This would include ensuring adherence to scope, budget, schedule and quality standards.)
- Coordinate project activities, manage timelines, and oversee milestones to achieve a successful project delivery. (This would include the coordination of weekly touch points and status reports to sr. mgmt. and clients.)
- Contribute to the improvement of the IT project management processes and best practices
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as a key liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Engage with clients, internal teams, and external partners to understand project requirements and expectations.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and motivate project teams, fostering collaboration and a commitment to project success.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, facilitating their professional development.
Risk Management:
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
- Conduct regular risk reviews to ensure proactive management throughout the project lifecycle.
Quality Assurance:
- Establish and enforce quality standards for project deliverables.
- Conduct regular project reviews to assess and improve project outcomes.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Generate and communicate regular project status reports to stakeholders.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, business requirements, design documents, and issue logs.
Client Communication:
- Foster positive relationships with clients through regular communication and status updates.
- Address client concerns and ensure satisfaction with project deliverables.
