General Accountant

Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
• 2–7+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Professional certification (CA, CMA, CPA, or equivalent) preferred
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP, Oracle)
• Advanced MS Excel skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Time management and ability to meet deadlines

Preferred

• Experience in ERP systems and financial reporting tools
• Exposure to tax compliance (direct and indirect taxes)
• Experience working with auditors and handling audits

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain general ledger and record all financial transactions
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
• Perform bank, vendor, and account reconciliations
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes
• Prepare financial statements (balance sheet, profit & loss, cash flow)
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards such as International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) or Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes
• Support audits by preparing schedules and documentation
• Monitor expenses and ensure proper cost allocation
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
