REQUIREMENTS
- Extensive knowledge of tax experience including tax accounting, tax planning, and compliance strategies.
- Proficiency in accounting principles such as GAAP, debits & credits, financial concepts, and technical accounting standards.
- Strong understanding of financial analysis techniques including analysis skills and account reconciliation processes.
- Familiarity with various accounting software platforms such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and other financial software tools.
- Ability to interpret complex financial reports and perform financial statement analysis.
- Experience with estate planning tools like wills, trusts & estate law; non-profit accounting; private equity; asset management; mergers & acquisitions; securities law; regulatory reporting; budgeting; payroll; investment strategies; financial services; and public accounting practices.
- Excellent organizational skills combined with a high level of financial acumen to support detailed account analysis and reconciliation tasks.
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and report writing.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, estates, and trusts.
- Represent clients before the IRS during audits, collections, and appeals processes.
- Provide strategic advice on estate planning, trusts, wills, and estate law to optimize tax outcomes.
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis including GAAP, financial statement preparation, and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Assist clients with financial planning, investment strategies, and asset management.
- Perform regulatory reporting and ensure compliance with SOX regulations where applicable.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and other financial software tools for bookkeeping and account reconciliation.
- Support mergers & acquisitions activities through due diligence and financial report interpretation.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of securities law, non-profit accounting standards, and other relevant regulatory requirements.
- Conduct audits and internal reviews focusing on corporate accounting practices including double entry bookkeeping, general ledger accounting, accounts payable, and payroll processing.
