Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Film Production, Cinematography, or a related technical field, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a Camera Technician or in a closely related role within the film, television, or broadcast industry.
  • Proven expertise with a variety of specialized camera platforms such as ARRI Alexa, RED, Phantom, drones (DJI Inspire/Mavic series), and underwater systems.
  • Strong understanding of digital cinema workflows, including codecs, color spaces, and post-production pipelines.

RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Rigging & Installation: Rig, configure, and de-rig Jib arms including Jimmy Jib and equivalent systems in studio and outdoor environments. Install and align Mini-Cam systems across complex set configurations. Set up and calibrate GSS (Gyro-Stabilized Systems) for stabilized shots. Deploy and operate Chariot camera systems on tracks including rail alignment and motion control setup. Install, configure, and integrate PTZ cameras into OB control infrastructure including network setup and control protocol mapping (VISCA, Pelco-D/P).
  • Technical Operations: Perform pre-production system checks and signal verification for all assigned camera systems. Interface special camera feeds with OB truck CCU, router, and production switcher signal chains. Operate remote camera control heads and joystick panels during live transmissions when required. Manage cabling infrastructure including fiber, triax, HDMI, SDI, and control cabling relevant to special camera deployments.
  • First-Line Maintenance: Carry out preventive maintenance schedules for all special camera equipment in the section inventory. Diagnose and resolve hardware and signal faults at first-line level, minimizing production downtime. Perform minor repairs, firmware updates, and calibration procedures on supported systems. Document all faults, repairs, and maintenance actions in the department technical log. Escalate complex faults to second-line engineering with full fault reports and pre-diagnosis.
  • Logistics & Readiness: Prepare equipment kits and packing lists for OB assignments. Conduct post-event equipment inspection, cleaning, and safe storage. Maintain accurate inventory records for all special camera assets. Coordinate with dispatch and logistics teams on equipment mobilization schedules.
