REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience in corporate accounting or nonprofit accounting environments with a strong understanding of financial concepts and technical accounting principles
• Hands-on experience with various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar tools is essential
• Knowledge of GAAP standards, governmental accounting practices, and tax regulations is highly desirable
• Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and general ledger accounting with precision
• Familiarity with accounts payable/receivable processes, journal entries, and financial report writing
• Strong understanding of debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and account analysis techniques
• Excellent organizational skills including 10 key typing proficiency for data entry tasks
• Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining high accuracy levels

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms
• Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of all financial data through meticulous account analysis and balance sheet reconciliation
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections while maintaining detailed records
• Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
• Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and compliance requirements for nonprofit or governmental accounting as applicable
• Conduct double entry bookkeeping to ensure all debits and credits are properly recorded in the general ledger
• Support budgeting activities by tracking expenses against budgets and providing insights for financial planning
