Advertising Sales Representative

August 26, 2026
Application ends: November 23, 2026

Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

  • Demonstrable experience in advertising, media, sponsorship or business-to-business sales, ideally within publishing, digital media or the wellbeing sector, with a track record you can talk us through
  • Genuine confidence in approaching people who have never heard of us, and the resilience to keep going through the quiet weeks that every sales role contains
  • Comfort working with a CRM system or a well maintained pipeline tracker, and the discipline to keep it updated without being asked
  • Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to write an approach email that sounds like a person rather than a template
  • Emotional intelligence and real sensitivity to our subject matter, because you will sometimes be explaining to a prospective advertiser that we publish work on abuse and coercive control, and that conversation needs handling with care
  • Strong organisational skills, since you will be holding several advertiser relationships at different stages at the same time, all running against fixed publication dates
  • The self motivation that remote and independent working demands, together with the honesty to tell us what is really happening rather than what sounds good

RESPONSIBILITES

  • Identifying and approaching potential advertisers whose products, services or values genuinely fit our readership, and building a pipeline that keeps each issue’s advertising pages filled ahead of deadline
  • Opening conversations through warm outreach, email, telephone, social platforms and networking within the therapy, coaching and wellbeing sectors
  • Presenting our rate card and sales kit clearly and confidently, answering questions about circulation, placement and specifications, and negotiating terms within the boundaries we agree together
  • Looking after existing advertisers properly, checking in between issues, understanding what they are trying to achieve, and making renewal feel like the obvious next step rather than a cold ask
  • Keeping accurate and current records of every lead, conversation, booking and renewal, so that the pipeline is always something we can both look at and understand
  • Working to the editorial calendar alongside the editor, so that artwork deadlines, copy approvals and payment terms are met without last minute pressure on production
  • Meeting the monthly and per issue booking targets we agree between us, and flagging early and honestly when something is not converting
  • Representing the magazine with integrity at all times, which includes declining or referring back any advertiser whose offering would not sit well with our readers
