Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Maintenance, or a related technical discipline.
  • Relevant experience in rotating equipment maintenance within oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical, power generation, or heavy industrial facilities.
  • Strong hands-on experience with pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, bearings, couplings, and mechanical seals.
  • Good knowledge of equipment overhaul, precision shaft alignment, balancing, vibration analysis, condition monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience supervising maintenance technicians, contractors, and workshop activities.
  • Strong understanding of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance practices.
  • Familiarity with OEM manuals, engineering drawings, tolerances, maintenance procedures, and inspection requirements.
  • Working knowledge of SAP PM or other CMMS systems.
  • Good understanding of HSE requirements, Permit to Work procedures, risk assessment, and safe maintenance practices.
  • Strong leadership, communication, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively during shutdowns, turnarounds, emergency maintenance, and high-priority equipment failures.
  • OEM training, vibration analysis certification, laser alignment certification, or other relevant rotating equipment qualifications would be an advantage.

RESPONSIBILITES

  1. Supervise and coordinate day-to-day activities of the rotating equipment maintenance workshop.
  2. Lead maintenance, repair, inspection, overhaul, and troubleshooting of pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, mechanical seals, bearings, and related rotating equipment.
  3. Plan and allocate manpower, tools, materials, and workshop resources to ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.
  4. Ensure all maintenance work is performed in accordance with OEM recommendations, company procedures, technical standards, and HSE requirements.
  5. Monitor equipment condition and support vibration analysis, alignment, balancing, condition monitoring, and reliability improvement activities.
  6. Review maintenance work orders, job plans, inspection reports, and repair history in SAP PM / CMMS.
  7. Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance Planning, Reliability, Inspection, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams.
  8. Support shutdowns, turnarounds, emergency repairs, and major equipment overhauls.
  9. Conduct troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
  10. Ensure proper quality control during dismantling, inspection, repair, assembly, testing, and commissioning.
  11. Monitor spare parts, consumables, special tools, and workshop inventory requirements.
  12. Supervise contractors and service providers and ensure work quality, safety, and schedule compliance.
  13. Maintain workshop housekeeping, tool control, equipment readiness, and safe working practices.
  14. Provide technical guidance, coaching, and on-the-job training to technicians.
  15. Track maintenance KPIs, equipment reliability, workshop productivity, backlog, and work completion status.
