Software Engineer (Data)

Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and Unix shell scripting
• Hands-on experience with Agile engineering practices, including TDD, refactoring, CI/CD, and XP
• Proven experience designing, implementing, and maintaining custom ETL pipelines
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow
• Expertise in distributed data processing and query engines (e.g., Trino, Spark, Snowflake, or BigQuery)

Preferred

• Experience building large-scale infrastructure applications and writing maintainable code
• Expertise with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP
• Experience with containerization and Infrastructure as Code (Docker, Kubernetes, or Terraform)
• Understanding of modern data architecture and Data Mesh principles
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools like New Relic, Grafana, or Prometheus

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reliable data platforms and end-to-end data pipelines
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions
• Establish data standards, maintain documentation, and manage the company-wide data registry
• Automate manual workflows and streamline data accessibility for all organizational users
• Plan and execute platform improvements, defining best practices for coding, testing, and deployment
