Instructional Designer
Job Description
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Curriculum and Instruction, Education, Learning Sciences, or a related field from an accredited institution. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, e-learning, or educational technology.
- Experience within a higher education institution is preferred.
- Experience designing online, blended, and technology-enhanced learning environments.
- Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of instructional design models such as ADDIE, Backward Design, and Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
- Strong understanding of online learning pedagogy and adult learning principles.
- Experience with course authoring and content development tools.
- Proficiency in Learning Management Systems and educational technologies.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive learning practices.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and cross-functional teams.
- Experience with multimedia development, video-based learning, and interactive content creation is an advantage.
- Knowledge of assessment design and learning analytics is preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with faculty members and subject matter experts to design, develop, and revise online, blended, and face-to-face courses.
- Apply instructional design principles and best practices to create engaging and effective learning experiences.
- Develop course structures, learning activities, assessments, and instructional materials aligned with learning outcomes.
- Assist faculty in integrating educational technologies and innovative teaching strategies into their courses.
- Design and develop multimedia learning resources, interactive content, and digital learning materials.
- Ensure instructional materials comply with accessibility standards, accreditation requirements, and quality assurance guidelines.
- Review and evaluate existing courses and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Support curriculum mapping, learning outcomes assessment, and course quality review initiatives.
- Develop templates, standards, and guidelines for course design and online learning delivery.
- Provide training and consultation to faculty regarding instructional design, online teaching, and educational technologies.
- Collaborate with the E-Learning and Information Technology teams to support digital learning initiatives.
- Monitor developments in instructional design, educational technology, and higher education best practices.
- Participate in institutional projects related to curriculum development, assessment, accreditation, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain documentation related to instructional design projects and learning resources.
- Contribute to the enhancement of student learning experiences through innovative and evidence-based educational practices.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Director or University management.
