Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Aeronautical / Mechanical / Electrical/ Electronics Engineering and/or holder of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Licence for 5 years.
  • At least 10 years of experience in Engineering, Aeronautical.
  • Should have a minimum of 10 years in Technical Services function of which at least 8 years of experience pertaining to multiple Emirates fleet type/aircraft systems.
  • Knowledge of latest technical developments and industry trends on respective systems.
  • Ability to analyse and synthesise technical information for implementation in cost effective ways.
  • Excellent drafting/report writing skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage Cabin / fleet technical management, continuing airworthiness management and technical support functions for assigned section, ie. Airframe, Structures, Avionics, PowerPlant and Cabin Interior.
  • Manage resource/task allocation and provide direction to the respective Technical Services team and define sectional Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Ensure implementation of priorities as defined by Manager Fleet Technical and escalate high risk fleet/engines/systems technical issues as appropriate.
  • Implement Technical verification process and approval for content/completeness of internal engineering documents initiated post evaluation of manufacturers/regulatory authorities documents in accordance with the departmental KPIs.
  • Approve initiated actions to improve fleet / engine, component and/or system reliability and maintainability including optimisation of aircraft maintenance programs based on in-service experience data (including but not limited to engines and/or components/systems).
  • Exercise CVE privileges of Part 21 Design Organisation as appointed by Head of Design (HOD), by carrying out Emirates Engineering design organisational activities such as, but not limited to development of Standard Operating Procedures, in house repairs, use of alternate parts and deviations from manufacturing documents.
  • Manage team performance by executing people management activities including performance management. Identify training and development interventions to optimise overall performance.
  • Review and approve evaluation of new aircraft/engines for introduction on in-service fleet, technical clarifications/justification to internal stakeholders, contract negotiation, cost optimisation, repairs and modifications.
  • Manage technical and operational support to internal stakeholders such as handling technical/AOG, troubleshooting aircraft chronic and deferred defects and technical delays as well as providing out of office hours support as necessary.
  • Act as functional lead for project management functions including but not limited to major modifications, retrofits, cabin reconfigurations and aircraft phaseout requirements including preparation of cost benefit studies and budget requirements.
  • Lead support activities for acquisition of new aircraft and end of lease activities.
