BIM Coordinator (structures)

Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil / Structural Engineering or BIM related
• Minimum 5-7 years overall experience. at least 2 and relevant experience in recognised main contracting companies.
• Previous experience in mega projects and large scale Mall projects will be highly advantageous
• Proficiency in BIM Coordination for structural engineering and coordination across other disciplines
• BIM certifications (Autodesk Certified Professional – Revit MEP, Navisworks Manage) preferred
• Relevant design software experience (AutoCAD, REVIT, Navisworks, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and update structure BIM models in coordination with construction sequencing and approved designs.
• Coordinate closely with civil, architectural, and structural modelers to resolve conflicts.
• Ensure readiness of models to support site execution, installation, and prefab workflows.
• Support engineering and procurement by providing quantity take-offs and extraction from BIM.
• Avoid rework by identifying coordination issues early through clash detection.
• Ensure that models adhere to BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and project-specific LOD standards.
• Maintain model accuracy based on approved shop drawings and reflect site changes (as-builts).
• Use clash detection tools (e.g., Navisworks) to identify any coordination issues before execution.
• Flag unresolved technical conflicts that may cause site delays.
• Coordinate with site engineers, BIM team, and consultants for model updates and approvals.
• Communicate design changes or modeling issues to relevant disciplines in a timely manner.
• Provide visual representations to site and planning teams to enhance execution understanding.
• Precise and On Time submission of any type of documents/reports/data.
• Complete tasks efficiently and stay within budget as part of your job responsibilities
• Provide input to other departments or parties as needed on time.
• Generate and export 2D drawings, sections, and elevations as required for construction.
• Update models based on site redlines, design revisions, and RFI responses.
