REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field (Master’s degree a plus).

3+ years of experience in student advising, coaching, or academic support—ideally in a virtual setting.

Proven understanding of adolescent development and family dynamics.

High emotional intelligence, effective listening skills, and a solutions-focused mindset.

Proficiency in using digital communication tools and learning platforms.

Cultural aptitude and a commitment to fostering inclusive, equitable experiences for all learners.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Build supportive relationships with students and their families through regular one-on-one check-ins.

Help students set academic, personal, and future-focused goals—and hold them accountable to their progress.

Identify signs of disengagement or distress and intervene with empathy, resources, or referrals as needed.

Coach students on time management, motivation, study skills, and digital learning habits.

Foster a sense of belonging by encouraging participation in community events and student life activities.

Serve as a reliable liaison for parents and caregivers, answering questions and providing timely updates.

Offer guidance to families on how to support their child’s learning journey in a virtual environment.

Celebrate student wins with families and help troubleshoot challenges together.

Support families through the re-enrollment process and encourage ongoing commitment to the school.

Track and report on student engagement, satisfaction, and retention metrics.

Communicate regularly with instructors, counselors, and administrators to provide holistic student support.

Maintain thorough documentation of student interactions, goals, interventions, and outcomes.

Advocate for students’ needs and help connect them to additional services when appropriate.
