REQUIREMENTS

Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, including fast and accurate typing.

The capacity to navigate confrontational and difficult situations with sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.

Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Word and Excel, and/or their Google equivalents (Docs and Sheets).

Adept at crafting clear, organized, and grammatically-sound written content.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Interacting constantly with consumers, businesses, attorneys, and other government agencies by phone, email, and in person.

Using a wide variety of tools to perform research and investigate alleged violations of the law.
-
Performing a full range of investigative work, including conducting interviews, determining an investigative plan, obtaining and compiling evidence, drafting documents, and thoroughly documenting the investigative process.

Ensuring compliance with state statutes and rules.
-
Facilitating resolutions of consumer complaints.
-
Initiating legal action and negotiating settlement agreements.
-
Responding to phone calls and emails quickly and effectively.
-
Educating businesses and the public on consumer protection laws.
-
Maintaining detailed records, preparing reports, and drafting legal documents.

Representing the Division in administrative hearings.
-
Tactfully and calmly handle conflict regularly.
