REQUIREMENTS
- Strong hands-on experience with Power BI (visualizations, DAX, performance tuning)
- Proficient in SQL and comfortable working with large, complex datasets
- Familiarity with Azure tools (Synapse, Databricks, ADLS) is a plus
- Experience working with VA systems: VistA, CDW, CPRS, and Cerner
- Understanding of healthcare data and analytics in a federal or clinical context
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A degree in a relevant field (data, informatics, healthcare IT); advanced degrees or certifications are a plus
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and helping shape analytics strategy
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and manage Power BI dashboards and visualizations for OCC and VHA stakeholders.
- Support data modeling and transformation using SQL, DAX, and Azure-based tools
- Work with large datasets to identify insights that support operational decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional VA teams (clinical, operations, informatics, product)
- Troubleshoot and update legacy dashboards impacted by the Cerner transition
- Participate in PGHD and Share My Health Data initiatives to ensure the accuracy of analytics.
- Help enforce best practices around dashboard design, validation, and compliance (HIPAA, FedRAMP)
- Provide documentation and ad hoc reports as needed
- Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
