REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience working with small to mid-sized business clients.
Demonstrated expertise preparing books for tax purposes — not just internal reporting.
Proven ability to handle complex multi-year cleanups, journal adjustments, and retained earnings corrections.
QuickBooks Online (QBO) proficiency required; QBO Certification preferred.
Strong understanding of U.S. entity structures (LLC, S Corp, C Corp, Partnership) and related state compliance filings (annual reports, reinstatements, dissolutions, etc.).
Experience with multi-entity and multi-state businesses highly preferred.
Excellent communication skills — able to explain financial results clearly to non-accountant business owners.
Comfortable working independently and managing multiple clients with minimal supervision.
Organized, detail-oriented, and responsive in a fast-paced remote environment.
Experience with tools like UltraTax or Karbon a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage weekly, monthly, and quarterly accounting for multiple business clients.
Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations with precision and consistency.
Complete complex cleanups for clients whose books are behind or out of balance, ensuring alignment with prior-year tax returns.
Maintain books that are accurate, compliant, and tax-ready for preparation and strategy implementation.
Prepare and deliver monthly financial reporting packages (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) with variance analysis and key insights.
Lead client onboarding sessions to establish accounting systems, categories, and processes that support tax strategy.
Participate in client review meetings to discuss financial health, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
Manage entity compliance filings such as annual reports, reinstatements, and multi-state renewals to maintain good standing.
Collaborate with tax strategists and CFOs to ensure accounting data fully supports strategic planning and filings.
