Job Overview
As a Data Steward – Senior Analytics Engineer , you will be responsible for data mapping, data quality checks, maintaining data quality, and collaborating with various teams to ensure trustworthy data for analytics and insights. Key competencies include extensive experience in Data & Analytics, cooperation with governance roles, familiarity with Technology Domain (R&D), and expertise in Data Modelling, Data Democratization, and Data Analytics.
Key Responsibilities
- You are responsible for data mapping, guiding the team in the development and refinement of Data Products, this in strong collaboration with others in the Vanderlande Data ecosystem, owning the data products and their correct classification of the Technology Domain.
- You identify and together with the team implement data quality checks on data products inside the Technology domain and for data ingested from data products owned by other domains. You ensure the data quality by making it actionable within the business.
- You ensure the continuous quality of the data used in our insight visualizations, ensuring well working authorization procedures, monitoring and active user feedback channels.
- You ensure the data quality of all data owned and used within the Technology Domain, aligning closely with the Data Steward community and other Vanderlande domains on quality improvements across domains.
- You maintain business metadata in the data dictionary for owned data assets, ensure the Data Product Catalog is up to date and aligned with business requirements and manage authorizations.
- You assist Data Consumers during the investigation of data issues, taking responsibility for seeing investigation through to crystal clear root causes and lead the resolution process.
- You represent the Technology Domain in the Data Steward Community, setting data policies and business rules together with the Data Stewards of the other business domains.
Key Competences
- 8-10 years of work experience inside the field of Data & Analytics.
- Ability to cooperate & coordinate with a multitude of Governance roles, Data Producers and Data Consumers to ensure data availability, compliancy and reliability.
- Previous exposure to the Technology Domain (R&D) in an agile operating hardware and software product development organization.
- Experience in Data Modelling, Data Democratization and Data Analytics.
- Familiar with and mastering several of the following tools and principals: Microsoft Azure, Azure Data Factory, Databricks & Unity Catalog, Microsoft Purview, PySpark, DevOps, PowerBI.
- Senior level knowledge and experience with SQL , modern data storing and availability toolkits.
- Ability to quickly learn about the business processes in Technology and the other Vanderlande Domains in which the data is created and/or used.
- Strong awareness of the consumers of the data, personas and their needs.
- Ability to actively raise data literacy in Vanderlande Technology.
- Senior level analytical skills combined with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
